Hi guys, mats here.
There’s no doubt that your Miracle Mat is going to get dirty. Depending on it’s use, it could be every few days or every few weeks. I recommend that you shake out the regular dust, sand and particles from the mat every few days and take a vacuum to it every week or other week to get rid of any allergens that might get trapped.
One important thing to do when you get a brand new Miracle Mat is to make sure that you first wash the mat. Since it comes from the factory, it will have excessive fiber and strands on it and like a cotton towel, it will work better after the first couple of washes.
Here’s how to clean and care for Miracle Mat.
- Place the Miracle Mat into a pillow case (or something like it) and tie off the open end. This will help keep the extra lint from getting into your lint trap and saving you extra time cleaning it out.
- Wash Miracle Mat by itself on a gentle spin using cold water with regular detergent.
- Take Miracle Mat out of the pillow case. Don’t worry about the “chunks of lint”, this is completely normal for the first few washes.
- Hang Miracle Mat up to dry. (Do not put it into the dryer!). It should be dry within 24 hours.
